Diffusers Aromatherapy diffusers refer to any device used to dispense essential oil into the air. There are a large variety of heat diffusers, also know as burners and warmers, that use such heat sources as candles, light bulbs, and electricity. There are lamp rings, pot diffusers, car diffusers, tea candle lamps, etc., from inexpensive to very expensive works of art. A heat diffuser dispenses the oil much more evenly and consistently; however there is some controversy over whether the heat decreases the effectiveness of the oils. The mist diffuser is also a large category. It includes vaporizers, atomizers, misters, inhalers, and nebulizers. This is considered the most effective delivery method by most since no heat is used. Nebulizers, in particular, are said to break the oils down into smaller particles that provide enhanced therapeutic benefits.
